A quarter of a century after its appearance on the face of the music scene, it often feels like Punk Rock has turned into the cliche that has lost it's spark; the chords are correct, the songs are there...but where can one find the heart??

For this we need to travel to the small pueblo of Tavernes de Valligna, which exists in the country of La Safor, in Valencia, Spain. That is the home of Don Cikuta, a three piece band of misfits who have been dedicating their lives to setting the world on fire with equal parts of melody and nastiness.

Though from a small town, however, they see things from a broad view. To date, they have toured the US three times and Mexico four; in fact, it was in reaction to the economic disparities in the "New World" (they're from Spain, remember!?)that inspired them to compose with a rage and conscience that dares to defy these inequalities. Likewise, through the friendships they made while touring, they realized that punk, like the lust for life, was not only NOT dead, but that it was more vital than ever..And in fact, Don Cikuta doesn't forget it's early upbringing; they live hard, party harder, and have a blast doing it.

Their first US release, entitled Estupido Pero Feliz (Stupid but Happy) is a collection of 23 tracks of pure punk rock. The topics rail against everything and all, including animal torture (i.e. bullfights!!), Fascism, boring routine, and a long list of other monsters that must be destroyed.

With artwork by Danny Sites (NOFX, RKL, Fat Wreckchords), the album includes guest appearances by Dave Raum (drummer for Lagwagon, RKL, and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes), Billy Gould (ex-Faith No More bassist), horns on the track "Bla Bla Bla" by the Basque group Skunk, and a collaboration with Evaristo of the (in)famous Spanish band La Polla.

The album was recorded in Room 5 Studios in San Francisco, and was produced by Billy Gould, and engineered Mark Pistel. Mixing and mastering were done by Angel Katarain, in Pais Vasco.

Un cuarto de siglo después de su aparición sobre la faz de la escena música mundial, se siente a menudo como el punk ha dado vuelta en el cliché que ha perdido su chispa; las notas estan correctos pero no se encuentra el corazón.

Para esto necesitamos viajar al pueblo pequeño de Tavernes de Valligna, que existe en el país del la Safor, en Valencia, España. Ése es el hogar del grupo Don Cikuta, una banda de desgraciados que han estado dedicando sus vidas a fijar el mundo en el fuego con las partes iguales la melodía y mala leche.

Aunque son de una ciudad pequeña, sin embargo ven cosas con una vision amplia (ancha?). Ya han realizado giras, tres veces a Estados Unidos y cuarto ocasiones a México. De hecho, es en la reacción a las disparidades económicas que atestiguaron en la primera visita a el "nuevo mundo"(son de España, verdad?) que les inspiró que compusieran con una rabia y la conciencia que se atreve a desafiar estas desigualdades. Asimismo, con las amistades que hacian mientras viajaban, ellos realizaron que el punk, como la pasion por la vida, no habia muerto, sino que era más vital que nunca.... En esta manera, Don Cikuta no olvido sus racies-ellos viven pesado, fiestan mas pesado, y se diviertan mucho haciendolo.

Su primer lanzamiento en Estados Unidos se titula Estupido Pero Feliz, una colección de 23 canciones al mas puro estilo punk. Temas contra todo lo que se odia como son la tortura animal ("Toros No"), el fascismo, la rutina, y un largo etc. de malignos monstrous a combatir.

Con una portada de Dan Sites, habitual diseñador de Fat Wreckchords, NOFX, RKL, el disco contiene colaboraciónes con Dave Raun (Lagwagon, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes), Billy Gould (Faith No More), los vientos del grupo Vasco Skunk, y con Evaristo (La Polla).

El disco fue grabado en el estudio Room 5 en San Francisco, California, y producido por Billy Gould con Mark Pistel (Consolidated, Meat Beat Manifesto, Los Mosocos). Mezclando y masterizacion fueron hechas por Angel Katarain, en el Pais Vasco.
