Emanating from the pubs, cantinas, and concert halls of San Francisco California, a bilingual punk quintet (with horns) known as La Plebe, that for over five years now, has kept busy playing shows relentlessly throughout California, Mexico, and most recently, the Eastern European Balkans... With an honest and energetic live show that is often stained by blood, sweat, and many many onstage beers, members of La Plebe proudly reflect upon memories of swollen lips, bruised arms, an occasional vomit, maybe a tear or two, and even sometimes, an occasional toe-tapper or sing along song.
With a true and unassuming work ethic, the band feels fortunate to have played both large and small venues alike. Venues n' dives that include The Fillmore (SF), The Roxy Theatre (LA), Slims (SF), The Avalon Hollwood (LA), Lipo Lounge (SF), Dolores Park (SF), El Chopo (Mexico City), The Black Box Club (Sofia, Bulgaria), El Balazo Gallery (SF), The Phoenix Theatre (Petaluma), El Multiforo Alicia (Mexico City), Klub Akademija (Belgrade, Serbia), and many many many other fine watering holes and street corners throughout various lands.
Additionally, the band has had the good fortune and great opportunity to share the stage with some amazing folks such as Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards (US), Maldita Vecindad (MX), Manic Hispanic (US), Guitar Wolf (Japan), Victimas del Dr. Cerebro (MX), Dos Minutos (Argentina), Sekta Core (MX), PanteÛn RoccocÛ (MX), Brain Failure (China), The Dead Pets (U.K.), Discharge (US), Two Gallants (US), and many many other great and notable acts.
Now after 3 independent releases behind them, the band is set to release it's very first full length album, produced once again by Bill Gould (Faith No More / Kool Arrow Records / BrujerÌa), and released in the United States by Tobias Jeg of Red Scare Records. This album which is the band's most ambitious work to date, stays true to the band's defiant musical voice, riddled by addiction, but ruled by an honest and sympathetic love for humanity. With a street date of July 24th, 2007, the band is preparing to embark on a multi-continental tour which will have them jumping from Guadalajara Mexico one night, onto Bucharest Romania the next, in promotion of the upcoming full length album.
Ever thirsty, dedicated and determined to travel the world playing bilingual punk with horns, the beer guzzlin' punk circus that is La Plebe, will be coming to a taco stand near you.
